Comments on Southern New England  market conditions or trends:

4th quarter 2002

Fair

Red oak strong. Hemlock horrible.

Regulations on state level need to help not hinder business.

Comments by sawmiller this week that demand for oak has gone up very recently.

You should print all the comments on market conditions; it would be most helpful.

There are very few logs in the mills now. Prices are good but will come way down this summer.

Cordwood should rise if gas and home fuel go up.

Prices for white pine continue to be soft in part thanks to our government tariffs on Canadian lumber; Canadians have flooded the lumber market on white pine

Record prices for high quality logs on many species. Prices are stagnant for lower quality logs.
