COMMENTS . Southern
New England Stumpage Price reporting. 2nd
quarter, 2004
- Good
mills are hungry. Dry weather may change this.
- Tough
market for tops/firewood
- Markets
are somewhat improved. Concentration
yard for pulpwood at Hull
location in Russell.
- Am
hearing conflicting reports on timber markets, how about you?
- It’s
too bad “bigger” mills can get away with paying so little for hemlock
(yes, I saw the blip on Cowls, Inc wanting hemlock…will have to check into
what they’re willing to pay, traditionally not much)
- Could
you try to get responders to give high and low prices per species? Also,
east and west not always good boundary (i.e. Rhode
Island vs Ashford , Hartford
vs Killingworth)
- Paying
$25 per cord hardwood skidder out to the landing from another logging.
Firewood sales are sluggish. Fuel prices thru the roof!
- Try
publishing results in other formats. Buyer data vs
seller data, consulting foresters
vs loggers and sawmillers.
- No
sales lately. Would like to know what prices others are selling for. I
have 10,000 bf of nice pine boards I would like to sell.
